A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, Twum-Barima Esq, has revealed a significant proposal of his party which is intended to reshape Ghana’s housing sector.
Lawyer Twum-Barima who was speaking on Angel Morning Show (AMS) ON Thursday mentioned that the NDC plans to introduce Social Housing Scheme to help address the issue of homelessness.
This policy, he said, will contain among others, a rent-to-own program which would allow individuals to own houses they will rent under the policy. The policy will also have a subsidized moderate program.
“People are willing to rent but the outrageous prices are not allowing them,” he explained, emphasizing the policy’s role in making housing more accessible for all Ghanaians.
Expanding on the potential impact of the housing initiative, Lawyer Twum-Barima asserted that it would not only alleviate homelessness but also spur community development and generate employment opportunities.
