Liverpool’s Premier League title aspirations appear to have been dealt a significant blow after Michail Antonio’s goal salvaged a point for West Ham at London Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen broke the deadlock just before halftime, rising highest to meet Mohammed Kudus’ cross into the area.
Andy Robertson levelled the score in the second half, converting Luis Diaz’s pass into the penalty area.
Liverpool’s pressure paid off when Cody Gakpo’s shot from a corner deflected off Angelo Ogbonna, Tomas Soucek, and Alphonse Areola before finding the net, seemingly putting them on course for a comeback victory.
However, Antonio’s powerful header restored parity for the Hammers, leaving Liverpool’s title hopes hanging by a thread.
With three games remaining, Liverpool currently sit third in the table, trailing leaders Arsenal by two points. Meanwhile, Manchester City occupy second place with two games in hand.
Liverpool’s chances of clinching the title now appear slim, with their hopes pinned on both Arsenal and Manchester City slipping up in the remaining fixtures.
