3Sports journalist, Bill Eshun placed 5th globally in the Young Reporters Broadcasting category at the AIPS Sport Media Awards held in Barcelona on May 2, 2024.
He also finished third on the continent in this category with his story titled “The Jumping Pheonix: High Jumper Overcoming Boundaries in Pursuit of Immortality”.
The story placed a spotlight on Gilbert Ampiah, a teenager with a disability, seeking glory for Ghana in major competitions.
Right about two weeks ago, I went to Ekumfi Atwa, where I met a physically challenged high jumper, Gilbert Ampiah.
His dream is to represent Ghana at the World Para Athletics championships.
