Barcelona’s young starlet Pau Cubarsi has committed his long-term future to the Catalan giants after putting pen to paper on a five-year contract extension.
Having made impressive strides in the senior side this season, the 17-year-old talented centre-back will stay at Camp Nou until at least June 2027.
Cubarsi, who emerged through Barça’s renowned youth academy, La Masia, has earned himself 20 first-team appearances since breaking into the fold this campaign.
His burgeoning reputation has been acknowledged at the international stage where he has been capped twice by Spain.
Understandably delighted with the progression of another homegrown talent, Barcelona announced via their official website that Cubarsi had agreed to terms on a fresh deal including elevated status within the main team setup.

Previously bound by an academy agreement featuring a modest €10 million ($10.6m; £8.6m) release fee – customary amongst Barça’s fledgling stars – the teen sensation now boasts enhanced job security.
However, according to Spanish labour laws restricting contracts for minors, Cubarsi could not officially commit beyond four additional seasons. Turning 18 in early 2025, he would then become eligible for a lengthier arrangement should both parties wish so.
Interestingly, sources close to the situation believe Cubarsi’s new contract mirrors the lucrative terms offered to fellow prodigious attacker Lamine Yamal just months prior. That particular agreement saw the promising forward receive a staggering €1 billion buyout clause.
