The founder and leader of Union Government political movement, Akwasi Addai Odike, has criticized the Akufo-Addo administration, claiming it is worse than a military junta.
In an interview on Angel Morning Show (AMS) May 20,2024, Odike remarked that benevolent military dictators have historically helped their countries in various ways.
He, however, condemned how people rubbish military rule stating it is a prospective system of government that can be adopted.

He suggested that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are fearful of a military intervention because of the corrupt activities they engage in while in power.
“Because of the money they’ve stolen, the NPP and NDC fear that if a soldier comes to power, he will pursue them. That’s why they are instilling fear among Ghanaians,” Odike stated.
He further alleged that President Akufo-Addo has corrupted the military, police, and other state institutions to serve his personal interests. “Akufo-Addo has damaged the integrity of the military, police, and all state institutions. He has captured these entities and is manipulating them for his own agenda. In this respect, he is worse than a military junta,” Odike concluded.
