Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Charles Allotey has expressed concerns that the Phobians might face a heavy defeat if they do not approach their clash against Asante Kotoko with caution.
Allotey, who was a prominent figure in the Ghana Premier League and enjoyed numerous memorable victories against Kotoko, is not confident in Hearts’ ability to secure a win against the Porcupine Warriors.
He attributes this to Hearts’ inconsistency and poor form throughout the season.
“Hearts of Oak only plays well when their opponent plays poorly, “he opined.
“Kotoko has improved, and it is evident whenever they play. Hearts perform in a way that is so inconsistent that it is impossible to compete with, and in time, the team on form usually wins, so if caution is not exercised, Kotoko will destroy them on Sunday,” he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
The Phobians are currently languishing in 12th position after 30 games and have only won twice in their last eight games.

A win against Kotoko could prove pivotal in their quest to revive their fortunes with four games to end the season.
Meanwhile, Kotoko lost for the first time in four games, when they fell to Berekem Chelsea over the weekend. Prosper Ogum’s men will seek to rebound from the loss and climb the ladder from the 10th position.
The much-anticipated clash kicks off on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
