Bibiani Gold Stars striker Prince Kwabena Owusu has hinted that talks of a possible transfer to Asante Kotoko are progressing steadily.
The experienced striker who was close to a move to the Porcupine Warriors last season was phenomenal for Gold Stars last season scoring nine goals in the just-ended Ghana Premier League.
However, Asante Kotoko has rekindled their interest in the player with the striker confirming that talks are far in advance for a dream move to Kotoko.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Prince Kwabena Owusu said “Yes, I have received calls, and the majority of them are from Asante Kotoko. We are far along in the conversation, and I am hoping it will go well.
“The number of players leaving after a year with Kotoko does not concern me, I am there to work and will give my all, just as I did with Gold Stars.”
“I am a striker who can play from both wings as well as the main striker, so they will see me more around the opponent’s box, similar to how Samuel Eto’o (my role model) used to play. I only seek strength to perform my duties.”
“I asked the fans to support us with prayers, and when I arrive at Kotoko, with God everything will be fine.”
The Porcupine Warriors are in the market for a striker to replace their Ugandan import Steven Mukwala who has confirmed his departure from the club after two successful seasons with the club where he scored 25 goals.
