Ghana’s Black Queens midfielder, Grace Asantewaa, sees their upcoming friendly against Japan as a key step in the team’s rebuilding process.
Asantewaa, currently playing for FC Juarez in Mexico, expressed her appreciation to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for arranging this high-profile match. Japan, ranked 7th in the world and a recent Olympic qualifier, represents a significant challenge for the Black Queens.
“This game will help in our rebuilding process and will take us to a higher level,” Asantewaa told Black Queens Media after the team’s first training session in Japan. “Japan is a great team, and this will be a good exercise for both me individually and for us collectively as a team.”
The Black Queens are looking forward to the challenge after a smooth journey to Japan and a successful first training session. They are eager to embrace the Japanese culture and are ready to hit the pitch on match day.
The highly anticipated friendly between Ghana and Japan is scheduled for July 13, 2024, at the Go Go Kanazawa Stadium.
