Kotoko goalkeeper Fredrick Asare is optimistic about his team’s prospects ahead of their clash with Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup.
This inaugural event, initiated by the Parliament of Ghana which will take place at Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, July 17, marks a significant moment for both clubs
The upcoming match will be their third encounter since facing off in the Ghana Premier League. Despite Hearts of Oak’s recent dominance in cup competitions, Asare believes The Porcupines are poised to turn the tables.
Following a transitional period that saw Kotoko release 21 players, Asare sees this as the dawn of a new era for the team.
He expressed confidence in their preparation under the guidance of the coach, emphasising the team’s strong training regimen.

The ultimate prize for the victor between Kotoko and Hearts is a chance to face MLS side DC United, adding further excitement to the upcoming fixture.
