The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised to restore peace among residents of Daboya and neighbouring tribes in the North Gonja District.
Speaking at the WasipeWura Palace on Sunday, July 21, 2024, Bawumia said he will engage in diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts and deploy peacekeeping forces to ensure peace is maintained among the different ethnic groups in the Wasipe Traditional Area.
“I will provide additional vehicles for the security agents to enhance greater mobility, enabling agents to quickly respond to emerging situations and navigate through conflict zones,” he noted.
The King and Overlord of the Wasipe Traditional Area, WasipeWura Mumuni Kaba Sagya II, urged Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP presidential candidate, to ensure that the Wasipe Traditional Area would see improvements in access to quality education and skills training, improved healthcare facilities and services, reduced mortality rates, and overall well-being.
“I am pleading with you to work on Daboya township roads, facilitate the faster completion of the Agenda 111 hospital project, and address other major uncompleted projects in the North Gonja District. Although my children, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor and CEO of Ghana Water Company Limited, Dr Ing. Clifford Braimah, continue to remind you of the proposals I have made to you,” he added.
The Vice President, also the presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party, visited the Wasipe Palace as part of a campaign tour in the Savannah Region.
