Manchester United and Cameroon shot-stopper Andre Onana has hit back at critics for calling him out during his first season at Manchester United.

Onana who joined Manchester United on a five year contract last summer had a debut season to forget, conceding over 50 goals over the course of last season.

The Cameroonian at times was at fault for some of the goals he conceded and one that stood out was a blunder against Bayern Munich in the Champions League as Manchester United were unable to qualify to the knockout stages.

However ahead of the new season, Onana has revealed how humans can’t do away with mistakes.

“I think it’s part of life, I mean who doesn’t make mistakes, and to be honest, I’ve already seen enough to assume this responsibility. My past already says everything about me,” he said.

Onana also revealed how it took him some time to adjust to life in Manchester.

“When you move to some country, some people need time and it took me six months to feel good, not to okay good, but to feel good,” he added.

The shot stopper also addressed how Manchester United are prepping ahead for this season.

“This season will be tough, we know but we need to show lots of character on the pitch.”

Onana and his teammates are currently on a pre season tour in the United States and would hope they are able to banish the bad memories of last season.
