Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has appealed to its executives, especially those whose dreams do not align with the party going into the 2024 polls to back off from the party.
According to him, the opposition party’s vision and mission is to recapture power and reset the country, saving it from the collapsed economy coupled with the hardship brought about by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show, Mustapha Gbande warned that any member of the NDC family who is not ready to team up and help the party win the 2024 elections should stay away.
“It is very clear that his excellency John Dramani Mahama’s second coming to power is not a party victory but it is a victory that requires hard work just to make sure that we turn the country around.
“So Mr. Mahama’s message is just very simple, if you are not ready to work, don’t come into his government because we [NDC] are going to work like boo to save the country and reset it from the mess the NPP has plunged us into,” Mustapha Gbande said.
He further reminded the party members of the need to protect the ballot papers on the D day, as that will be a catalyst to the party winning the 2024 elections.
This, he said, should be done by sleeping at the polling centers overnight with their cameras and other electronic gadgets to avert any plans of manipulating the vote counts by the NPP.
“What I will tell Ghanaians is that they shouldn’t leave everything on the NDC alone, so what I will tell them is they should go to the polling stations with their mattresses [beds] and after casting their votes, they should find a place and sleep there until the EC officials declare the results at each polling centers before you proceed to your homes.
“Secondly, when going, go with your cameras and ensure that everything fishy attempted by the NPP is captured for evidence purposes because when dealing with criminals, you sleep with one eye open,” he concluded.
