Spanish newspaper Sport reports that Barcelona are ready to entertain offers for centre-back Ronald Araujo this summer.

If suitable compensation arrives, La Liga titlists may allow the Uruguayan international to leave Camp Nou for a fee rumoured to be no lower than €100 million.

According to the report, Barça believe there is sufficient depth in defence, allowing them to potentially part ways with Araújo.

Among the defensive options available to Xavi Hernández’s side are Pau Cubarsi, Andréas Christensen, Íñigo Martínez, and Jules Koundé. Furthermore, young prospects Mikaíl Faÿ and Éric García are set to reinforce the Catalan roster soon.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich reportedly hold discussions concerning the acquisition of Araújo. Negotiations may transpire if either club submits an offer close to Barcelona’s asking price.

Should Araújo depart, Barça intend to allocate funds toward acquiring a midfielder and a striker, strengthening key positions heading into the new season.

Araújo has been at Barcelona since 2018.
