The ongoing strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) will be decided when it engages its national council in a crunch meeting.
The meeting which takes place on Thursday, July 25, is aimed at deciding whether to end its ongoing strike or proceed.
CETAG has been on strike for about a month now in protest of government’s failure to implement the National Labour Commission’s Arbitral Award Orders, intended to improve the working conditions for teachers.
Speaking in an interview, President of CETAG, Prince Obeng indicated that they would made a conclusion after Thursday’s meeting with its national council meeting, citing a significant agreements reached.
“We have had a series of discussions, we have had a significant progress, a lot of proposals have been put on the table. We’re going to touch base with our members.
“What I can say for now is that we have made a lot of significant progress based on the proposals that have been put on the table,” CETAG President said.
