Dreams FC coach Karim Zito believes his accomplishments have not been duly recognised by Ghanaians due to his perceived association with the Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, who has faced criticism for the poor management of football in the country.

Zito, who guided Dreams FC to a historic semi-final appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup on the club’s first attempt, expressed his frustration during a post-match conference, stating:

“You people are here, and you know Zito, but you have attributed your thinking against me because of Kurt. Let’s leave it like that. You know where these boys came from, Still Believe, so I won’t answer this question.”

Despite the perceived lack of recognition, Zito remains open to the possibility of handling the Black Stars in the future, saying, “I am a Ghanaian, and if I am called to go and work, I will do it, but if not, I have no problem about that.”

Zito’s accomplishments include winning the 2021 Africa Youth Championship with Ghana’s U20 team, the Black Satellites, and the 2022/2023 Ghana FA Cup title with Dreams FC.

He is currently in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup and has previously served as an assistant coach for Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, two of Ghana’s biggest clubs.
