Dreams FC have emphatically secured their place in next season’s Ghana Premier League with a stunning 8-1 victory over Real Tamale United (RTU) on Wednesday.
Entering the outstanding matchday 28 fixture precariously positioned 15th on the table, just one point above the relegation zone, the “Still Believe” lads seized their opportunity to escape the drop zone.
Pre-match reports hinted at turmoil within the RTU camp, with players allegedly refusing to train and honour the game over unpaid bonuses. Further updates suggested that RTU resorted to fielding lower-division players for their penultimate game of the season.
Despite these setbacks, RTU initially shocked the hosts by opening the scoring in the fourth minute through Lord Adabo. However, this proved to be merely a prelude to a calamitous afternoon for the visitors at Dawu Park.
Dreams FC responded in spectacular fashion. Agyenim Boateng led the charge with five goals, while Benjamin Bature added a brace, and Dede Ishmael contributed a goal, sealing an 8-1 rout over the Pride of the North.
This crucial victory propels Dreams FC to 11th place on the table with 45 points, ensuring their safety with one match remaining in the season.

The FA Cup champions have endured a challenging campaign, which included a historic run to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, making them the first Ghanaian side to reach the last four since 2004.
For RTU, already relegated, the defeat did little to change their fate but added a heavy blow to their end-of-season struggles.
The relegation battle remains intense, with Heart of Lions, Legon Cities, Karela United, Hearts of Oak, and Great Olympics all still fighting to avoid the drop.
