Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has been awarded the 2023/24 Premier League Player of the Season.
The England international’s stellar performance this season, with 17 goals and eight assists, has been instrumental in City’s campaign as they eye a record fourth consecutive English title.
Foden’s impressive tally is second only to Erling Haaland for City, who has netted 27 league goals. The accolade comes ahead of City’s decisive match against West Ham at home on Sunday, where a win would secure their historic title.
He beat off competition from his teammate as well as compatriot Cole Palmer who won the Young Player of the season.

Earlier this month, the 23-year-old was also voted the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, further cementing his status as one of the league’s standout performers.

Reflecting on his season, Foden added, “Overall, I’ve been very happy with the way I have played this season and really pleased that I have been able to contribute with the goals and assists throughout the season.”
Foden did not forget to acknowledge the support behind his success, saying, “I’d like to thank all of the City staff, coaches, and especially my teammates because without them this wouldn’t be possible. And I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for me as the award means a lot.”
