One of Ghana’s celebrated gospel musicians, Joyce Blessing, has subscribed to the belief that gospel musicians are paid for their performance at events, especially churches.
In a one-on-one interview on Friday, September 6, 2024, on the Angel Morning Show with Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, she stated that whatever industry players deserve after performing at churches must be due them accordingly.
Joyce Blessing added that every work in the gospel industry involves a lot of money likewise others therefore the church must also “recognize their work as both ministry and profession.”
She explained that shooting and recording a video alone requires a huge sum of money and also specified that money is also needed in the promotion of songs among others.
The “Oluwa Is Involved” singer highlighted that the sharing of music videos on social media and other platforms is not free.
“Gospel musicians must be paid for them to be able to promote their music and function effectively in the music industry,” according to Joyce Blessing.
