Ghana Women’s Premier League champions Hasaacas Ladies kicked off their 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers with a goalless draw against Burkinabe side Omnisports Etincelle.
The match, part of the WAFU B zonal qualifiers, took place at the Stade de la Paix de Bouake in Ivory Coast on Sunday.
Hasaacas Ladies found themselves under significant pressure for much of the game, with Omnisports Etincelle dominating possession and maintaining a strong offensive presence.
The Ghanaian team struggled to break out of their defensive setup, relying heavily on their goalkeeper, Grace Banwaa, who made crucial saves in both halves to keep the scoreline level.

The introduction of midfielder Fidous Yakubu brought some fresh energy to Hasaacas’ attack, but despite their efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net.

The draw marks a better start for Hasaacas compared to their previous appearance in the qualifiers three years ago, where they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria’s River Angels.
With this result, Hasaacas Ladies will now turn their attention to their next group match against Nigeria’s Edo Queens, aiming to build on their performance and secure a win.
