Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season with a solid victory over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Gunners in the first half, heading in from a Bukayo Saka cross. Saka then doubled the lead after the break, firing a powerful left-footed shot into the right corner after a quick free-kick caught Wolves off guard.
Despite not being at their best, Arsenal controlled the game and deserved the win against a determined Wolves side. Wolves debutant Jorgen Strand Larsen had a first-half header well saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, while substitute Matheus Cunha missed a chance to equalize with a tame shot.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil will have few complaints about the result, as his team struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout the match.
