Hearts of Oak unveil new Commercial Complex to reaffirm global ambitions

Hearts of Oak unveiled a new three-story commercial complex on Tuesday, signalling their commitment to enhancing global competitiveness.

The board of directors, led by majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV, inspected and took possession of the facility on Tuesday.

Togbe Afede XIV emphasised the club’s pursuit of excellence, stating, “We have the secretariat that will continue to function. What we have today will remain our commercial centre and again a demonstration of our commitment to ensuring that we exploit as much as possible the commercial value of the brand that we are building.”

Also present were board members Vincent Sowah Odotei, Akwasi Agyemang, Ivy Heward-Mills and Delali Anku. Addressing recent poor performances, including relegation battles in the past two seasons, Togbe Afede XIV assured fans of upcoming improvements.

He outlined plans to strengthen internal administration and recruit top talent, saying, “We know that it doesn’t take only infrastructure but we need solid management, we will continue to work at it. We need a solid technical team and we will work at it as well.”

“We need a solid group of players and we are working at it. We want to assure fans that management is committed, the board is committed to assembling the best squad possible.”

The club highlighted that ongoing infrastructure projects, including works at Kpobiman, are part of their strategy to compete globally. Hearts of Oak will resume training next week for the 2024/2025 Ghana Football season, following their recent loss to Asante Kotoko in the Democracy Cup.

Their season opener against newly-promoted Basake Holy Stars is scheduled between September 6 and 9.
