Member of the National Democratic Congress Communications Bureau, Alhaji Mohammed Naziru, has stated that the New Patriotic Party government’s flagship ‘Kayayei Empowerment Programme’ is no different from the failed NABCO programme.
According to him, the NABCO programme, introduced in 2018, was intended to score political points rather than achieve a genuine purpose, much like the Kayayei Empowerment Programme.
Commenting on the recent graduates of the Kayayei Empowerment Programme, Alhaji Naziru likened it to the NABCO programme, predicting that it would also fail after the December 7 polls.
“We all witnessed the government’s introduction of a similar programme like NABCO for political gain, which collapsed after the 2020 elections,” he remarked.
“So, if I criticize your rebranded NABCO programme which will also fail after this year’s election, I don’t think it should be an issue,” he added.
