Leny Yoro: Man United new recruit spotted in crutches

Manchester United’s new recruit, Leny Yoro, has been seen on crutches and wearing a protective boot following an injury sustained during the pre-season match against Arsenal.

The 18-year-old, who joined United from Lille for £52 million on July 18, was forced off the pitch in the first half of the game at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Yoro struggled to put weight on his left foot and was filmed boarding the team bus with the boot, raising concerns about a potentially extended absence. The club is currently assessing the severity of the injury.

Manager Erik ten Hag is expected to address the media about Yoro’s condition during his press conference on Thursday (00:30 BST Friday), ahead of United’s match against Liverpool on Saturday in South Carolina.

The teenager only featured in the first half of Manchester United’s win over Rangers before the Arsenal clash.

Yoro’s injury comes at a challenging time for United, as they are also dealing with Raphael Varane’s departure.

The Red Devils hope for a swift recovery for Leny Yoro and their other defenders as they prepare for the upcoming season, including their UEFA Europa League campaign and domestic competitions.

Manchester United’s next pre-season match is against Real Betis in San Diego on Wednesday (03:00 BST Thursday).
