The Leader and founder of the political movement, Union Government, has suggested that the Electoral Commission should adopt an all year round voters registration exercise to capture eligible voters.
He admonished that the adoption of this strategy will reduce the misunderstanding that arises during the period of mass voters registration.
“All these brouhaha would have been avoided if the EC had decided to conduct an all year round voters registration exercise,” he said.
Akwasi Odike expressed this idea while speaking on Angel Morning Show, May 13, 2024 about the ongoing limited voters registration exercise and matters arising.
He pointed out that since the electoral commission has district offices in almost every region, it will be prudent if they register voters who immediately turn 18 and not wait for the mass exercise.
“All that is needed is the person turns 18 and walks in and proves he is eligible and get registered. There is absolutely no need to do this mass registration which brings about some of these issues, he added.
