Fatawu Issahaku described his Premier League debut as “amazing” after an impressive performance in Leicester City’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
The Ghanaian international provided a pinpoint cross that Jamie Vardy converted, allowing Leicester to secure a crucial point.
In the first half, the newly promoted Foxes struggled and were fortunate to concede just one goal, with Pedro Porro giving Spurs the lead. However, Leicester bounced back in the second half, finding their rhythm and eventually equalising through Vardy, assisted by Issahaku.
Issahaku’s debut was a standout performance, justifying Leicester’s decision to sign him on a permanent deal. His match statistics were impressive: 54 touches, 14 completed passes, 12 ground duels won, six tackles won, five clearances, three fouls won, two key passes, one big chance created, and one assist.
Reflecting on his debut, Issahaku said, “It was amazing making my Premier League debut last night. Great effort from the lads and an amazing atmosphere from the fans. Come on Foxes, we are in this together.”
The 20-year-old was initially on loan at Leicester, but after excelling during their Championship-winning season, the club secured his services permanently for €17 million.
