
Former Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Alhaji Abdullah Showumi Williams has been laid to rest.
The renowned boxing administrator was laid to rest in Accra on Friday after Islamic customary rites.
Alhaji Showumi Williams passed on Wednesday, July 17 after a short illness.
He was 85.
He was known to have contributed to the growth of boxing in Ghana to the extent of giving his residence out for training boxers.
There was a file past early on Friday as family members and sympathisers read tributes in his honour.
His mortal remains were, then, sent to the National Mosque for the Salaat al-Janaazah prayers before interment at the Mantse Ankrah Royal Mausoleum.
Until his demise, Alhaji Showumi Williams was also the National Coordinator of the Federation of Muslim Councils.
