Spain left-back Marc Cucurella says playing in the Euro 2024 final is a dream come true for himself and his teammates as they prepare to face England.
La Roja secured their spot in the final by defeating France on Tuesday. They are now set to face England, who are seeking their first-ever European Championship trophy.
Spain is one of the most successful teams in the European Championships, having already won three titles. However, if they can beat England on Sunday, it would be their first major trophy since 2012. Cucurella has shared that this opportunity is a dream come true for the players ahead of Sunday’s final.
“For lots of us it’s a dream, we fight a lot we need to suffer a lot but we play like a team we’re a family and I think we deserve to stay there and on Sunday we need to enjoy this dream,” he said.

Cucurella prior to this tournament had faced criticism from Chelsea fans for his performances in the 2023/2024 season but has seen a resurgence in his performances during the Euros.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion back was quick to shower praises on his manager for what he’s done to get the team clicking.
“I think we have a special team, a mixed with young and experienced players. I think the coach deserves to stay here. He’s worked a lot in the past,” he added.
On Sunday, Spain will have the chance to write history by becoming the first team to win the European Championships on four occasions and the players would hope their dreams are manifested after the final whistle.
