Former Member of Parliament for Okaikoi North Constituency, Fuseini Issah, has emphasised the essence of giving state institutions the needed backing in order for them to be effective.
“If this nation would develop, it is dependent on us building strong institutions that can effectively manage their affairs,” Mr Issah stated on Thursday, May 09, on the Angel Morning Show hosted by Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.
He singled out the Electoral Commission and asserted that if it is made stronger, it will eliminate all forms of doubt and ensure trust in it.
“We can build strong institutions to the extend that there will be no need contracting party agents during electoral activities,” he told Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.
The former lawmaker emphasised that he does not subscribe to state institutions performing their duties in favour of a faction and, therefore, admonished individuals to also abstain from bastardising them.
